Top Ten Cover Redesigns We Like Better

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
This week's Top Ten topic is "Top Ten Covers We Wish We Could Redesign" but instead we chose to list our "Top Ten Cover Redesigns We Like Better".

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
(Paperback vs Hardcover)
Original paperback is just weird.

The Diviners by Libba Bray
(Hardcover vs ebook)
Not a fan of the original hardcover at all.

Blood Red Road by Moira Young
(Hardcover vs Hardcover 1 year later)
Hardcover 1 year later is way cooler.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
(Hardcover vs Paperback)
First one boring. Second one badass.

Graceling by Kristin Cashore
(Hardcover vs Paperback)
See previous reason.

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
(Paperback vs Hardcover)
A bit torn but I think I like the original better

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
(Hodder & Stoughton publishing vs Little Brown)
Close call but I like the font and blue mask more.

Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
(Hodder & Stoughton publishing vs Little Brown)
The red masked eyes are much cooler

Across the Universe by Beth Revis
(Hardcover vs Paperback)
First one a bit much. Second one much better

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
(Orion 2012 vs. St. Martin 2013)
Second one just fits better.

Definitely agree about the re-design being much better for Throne of Glass and Graceling! It was the badass-ness of the Throne of Glass cover that shouted out at me from the bookshop shelf! I did prefer the original Laini Taylor ones though I have to say. :-)
I think the eye masks are much more appealing too for the Smoke and Bone books! Great list!

Interesting! I think you're the first person I've seen who's liked the new DIVINERS and ACROSS THE UNIVERSE cover better than the original. And the US covers of Taylor's books are so much prettier!

I MUCH prefer the US Eleanor & Park cover! I think it's adorable and so fitting to the book.
I definitely like the original cover for The Raven Boys better! I think it's just a bit simpler and you can really focus on the raven which is AWESOME.
great lists. i totally agree, particularly, about Eleanor & Park...the first one reads adult to me
Some really great pics, agree with a lot of them - but I prefer The Daughter of Smoke and Bone and it's sequel in the Hodder & Stoughton covers. My TTT.

Under the Never Sky, Throne of Glass, and Graceling...completely agree. I hadn't seen the paperback Graceling cover. Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Eleanor and Park...also completely agree. Not sure about Across the Universe, I actually like both covers. Great picks and so fun to change the topic (we actually didn't participate since I hate being all negative).

I love the covers for Throne of glass <3 Daughter of smoke and bone, the new ones for sure! So much more eye catching. I actually like the older covers from Graceling more :)
My recent post Review 215. Eliza Crewe – Cracked.
