Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week's Top Ten list is "Top Ten Best/Worst Movie Adaptations (you could pick best or worst OR split it in half) -- originally done in the form of best movie adaptations in Feb 2011"
Considering the number of YA movies in production, it would help to revisit this topic at a later date! Suffice it to say, we struggled with this one.
The Best:
The Notebook
A Walk to Remember
The Great Gatsby
The Hunger Games
Game of Thrones
Angels and Demons
Harry Potter
The Worst:
Beautiful Creatures
The Hobbit
Bonus: the ABSOLUTE worst!
Twilight
What are your top ten?
Hahahah, the absolute worst! That's the best category ever! And it's true! We actually have a few similars happening in our post!

The notebook <3 This is one of the movies that can make me cry. Game of thrones is AWESOME. I just started watching (last week) and I'm already halfway season 2. Harry Potter is good because it's Harry Potter, because some movies aren't that good. It's just fun to see all my favorite characters come alive. I actually love The Hobbit movie. The book sucked for me :p and Twilight, haha, yes. Agree.
ReplyDeleteThe movie was just too long and dragged out for my taste! Love Harry Potter!
DeleteI haven't read any of the Game of Thrones books, but I absolutely love the series! Usually I read the books first, but I really need to read them. I've heard Beautiful Creatures is a horrible movie, but I haven't seen it yet. Love the Harry Potter movies and The Hunger Games--great list!
ReplyDeleteum, yes. i haven't read the hobbit, though, and I loved the movie. it's unlikely that I will read the book so the movie will always be good to me. ~daphne
ReplyDeleteTwilight made my worst, too. I did enjoy The Great Gatsby--but have to admit to liking the book way more. I love the Notebook movie, but have never read the book. I love Game of Thrones. So good. Great list!

I was not impressed with the Notebook as a book but I did really enjoy the movie!
DeleteI actually liked The Hobbit, so that's the only one we'd probably disagree on. Otherwise, I heartily support every single one of your choices! It makes me particularly glad that you included The Notebook + A Walk to Remember, both of which I LOVED.
ReplyDeleteI think it was just not for me, it was too long!
DeleteI agree with most of your choices, especially Harry Potter!! Out of all 8 movies, Prisoner of Azkaban was the best (in my opinion). One thing I don't agree on..The Hobbit! I looooved the movie.
ReplyDeleteGreat list!

I know, I feel the rocks being thrown at me for The Hobbit... I just thought it was dragged out but to be fair I took a nap and felt like I did not miss anything :)
