This sounds like a really powerful read. Torn between the decision to speak for yourself or stay quiet for the sake of others. It reminds me a little of If I Lie by Corinne Jackson, which I loved. I will definitely be picking this one up!

Canary by Rachele Alpine does sound like a powerful read, with a interesting subject matter that you really don't read about much. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteGosh as much as I'd like to get behind this, I'm all about self-empowerment. Dad doesn't want her to speak because it will hurt the team's reputation? Unbelievable. I think this book might make me angry. But then again... I'm curious to see how it's handled and I like getting angry at books - makes me feel more involved in the story. Anyway, I'll quit rambling. Great choice!: )

Oh, sounds nice. The whole staying quiet or speaking out about the assault remembers me a bit of Easy by Tammara Webber, and I loved that book.
