Feature & Follow (5) - Feb 15th

Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read to showcase blogs, meet new blogger friends and gain new followers.

This week's question is:

Q: Write a letter to your favorite character. Rant, rave or gush…just pretend like they are real and you just want to let them know a "few things". - Activity courtesy of author, Kelly Walker

My Dearest Evie (from the Diviners),
Since this is my letter I am going to pretend we are the BEST of friends. But you are such a good friend that you won't use your little Diviner parlor trick to discover all my secrets ;). I don't know what storm is coming but I am rooting for you and Theta and Memphis and Sam. By the way you tracked down Naughty John I am pos-i-toot-ly sure you can handle anything! Be good for your ol' Unc and try to keep the forbidden drinking and speakeasies to a minimum (but don't let me stop you)! And if you know whats good for you, you will give Sam a chance! Sure he totally stole your $20 but then again you were the sucker for letting some stranger kiss you on the street! And be honest with yourself, he is probably the only boy that can keep up with you! Sure Jericho's got some weird appeal but between you and me he's such a drab. And besides doesn't that break some  sort of friend rule, you know Mable called dibs. Anyway, I think you are the absolute berries! I cannot wait to see what sort of trouble you will create next.
Your friend,
Nicole

Feature and Follow Friday (4) - Feb 1st

Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read to showcase blogs, meet new blogger friends and gain new followers.

This week's question is:

Q: What is the first thing you would do if you woke up to find yourself in your favorite book?

Hmm... Probably be quite confused actually. But if I would wake up in Victorian England in the Clockwork Angel and Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare the first thing I would do would be to take in the amazing setting. Check out the fashion, I mean look at the cover of the Clockwork Princess.  She has a gorgeous dress on and the city looks so dark and beautiful.  After taking all that in, I would want to go find the dark, magical world of the shadow hunters.

Feature & Follow Friday (3)

This week's question is:

Q: What is the last book that kept you up late into the night just to finish it?

Well, I just read The Archived in a day because I couldn't put it down. But to go back a little further, the last book that kept me up late at night was My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. I was just memorized by this book and was surprised to find how fast I read it. I didn't realize how much time had passed until I finished the last page and came back to reality. Fortunately, it was a Friday night and I could sleep in the next morning :D. My Life Next Door was so much more than a book about first love. Amidst the romance, Huntley Fitzpatrick beautifully portrays the trials of family and friendship, and navigating the ups and downs of life. I highly recommend if you read contemporary. My review is here.

Title: My Life Next Door
Author: Huntley Fitzpatrick
Publisher: Dial Books for Young Readers
Release Date: 6/14/12
Pages: 396, Hardcover

Summary from Goodreads:
A gorgeous debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another
“One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time.”
The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, numerous, messy, affectionate. And every day from her balcony perch, seventeen-year-old Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs her terrace and changes everything. As the two fall fiercely in love, Jase's family makes Samantha one of their own. Then in an instant, the bottom drops out of her world and she is suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

Feature and Follow (2)

Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read to showcase blogs, meet new blogger friends and gain new followers.

This week's question is:

Q:Who is your favorite villain from a book?

Hmm... the first villain that comes to mind is Ursula, from the Little Mermaid because I am a sucker for Disney movies and The Little Mermaid is one of my favorites.  Plus I love the song Poor Unfortunate Souls :) She is so dark, evil and rocks black and purple so well!

But my favorite (non-Disney movie) villain from a book would have to probably be Ridley from The Castor series ( I am working on finishing the series at the moment, so my pick is from books 1-3).  I love her spunky personality and her on and off relationship with Link.  She also has fun fashion and snarky lines she spits at Ethan and Link.  I debated for a bit if she was a villain or not, but so many bad guys have a tendency to change their ways during the book it was hard for me to pick one.  I like Anna, the "murdering ghost" from Anna Dressed in Blood as well, but I don't know if I would consider her true villain either.

Feature and Follow Friday (1)

Q: If you could choose one supernatural being/creature to really exists what would it be and why? ex. fae
A: Both Featured bloggers this week bring up good points - supernatural creatures are pretty damn scarey ESPECIALLY if you are not one of them. But I am going to assume that my powers of wooing will give me a slight chance of getting turned into one rather than being dinner and therefore I would want to be a vampire - but like a Twilight vampire or even Vampire Academy Moroi. They are usually strong, fast, and INCREDIBLY GORGEOUS, get to live in the sun, and maybe living forever wouldn't be so bad if you had someone you love with you, right? Imagine how cool the world could be in 1000 years... if it exists of courses ;)
